Spicy Keto Sausage Balls

 Spicy Keto Sausage Balls
My favorite part about the keto diet is the amazing food that you can eat every day without any guilt.

One of those foods I love is Keto Sausage Balls because they are so easy to make and full of flavor.

To change things up a bit from my usual I concocted these Spicy Keto Sausage Balls – and now it is hard to decide which is my favorite!
I can’t think of a more traditional appetizer recipe than sausage balls. They have grazed countless holiday tables for decades. These keto sausage balls are the perfect low carb rendition of a high carb classic. In this recipe I used almond flour in place of the traditional bisquick used in the sausage ball recipes of old. It makes the perfect substitution, while keeping the perfectly dense, juicy texture.

I love to serve these keto sausage balls with a side of low carb barbecue sauce or even with my Dairy Free Keto Ranch Dressing Recipe or Keto Chive Blue Cheese Dressing recipe. And let me just tell you… these sausage balls aren’t just for holidays, they are perfect any time of year. They are quick and easy, ready in under 30 minutes, making them the perfect q

But after a while of enjoying my Sausage Egg Bakes for breakfast, I decided to get a bit more creative, and made my Sausage Cheese Balls… and I have been hooked ever since.

There are a lot of Sausage Ball Recipes that use flour – but it is not necessary.

In fact, I use grated parmesan in place of flour in several recipes – like Fathead pizza dough!

It brings the carb count down significantly and adds even more flavor! A total win-win.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 lb hot breakfast sausage (we opt for pastured raised pork)
  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  2. In a large bowl mix together all of the ingredients until combined. Divide the mixture into 28 balls and place in a 10.5" cast iron skillet (or baking sheet if you don't have a skillet) and bake for 25-30 minutes until the sausage balls are golden and cooked through.
